Chris has been involved in the Staffing business for over 25 years. He began his career as a “Headhunter” for a firm called Status Incorporated in 1990. After his third month on board, Chris was named “Recruiter of the Month,” for 15 consecutive months before being recruiter away to lead the resource management charge at a company called The Registry. In his 6 years with The Registry, Chris filled roles as Recruiting Manager, Sales Manager and eventually Regional Manager of 3 offices throughout the Carolinas.
In 1997 Chris left The Registry and along with 2 other partners formed a company called Signature Consultants. His duties consisted of building this company from the ground up and acted as Recruiting Manager, Sales Manager and Vice President throughout his tenure. Once the company was on solid personnel and financial ground, Chris left to start a company called The Matt Christopher Group, based out of Charlotte. MCG became successful at placing people in contract, contract to permanent and permanent placement positions within the I.T., Sales and Executive arenas.
After 5 years of developing and growing MCG into a $6+ million dollar venture, Chris sold his interest in MCG to a competing entity and was offered a role as the Director of I.T. Staff Augmentation division for a multimillion dollar Staffing firm based out of Buffalo. Within a couple of years, Chris’ division was exceeding $5 million dollars in revenue when he was asked to take the helm as the Sales and Recruiting Manager for a billion dollar I.T. Solution Services firm. Based out of Atlanta, he was instrumental in developing new programs as well as “best practices” that enhanced not only the internal employees’ careers but also the careers of those who were involved in consulting assignments with the firm.
In August 2007, Chris joined IBS. He was solely responsible for the development of a new division called, IBS Global Staffing. This division was formed to focus on providing staffing services to the Travel, Transportation and Hospitality industries. Since the inception of this division, it is now a multimillion dollar division that services well known clients across the United States. In July of 2008, Chris left IBS to become a Partner in the formation of Apical Resource Group. Apical is 100% focused on proving high quality staffing services geared towards helping customers fill their critical needs of hospitality employment within the Travel, Transportation and Hospitality sectors.
